Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League Announces New Director Hire

February 6, 2022, Madison, Wisconsin- The Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League, a Chapter League of the National Interscholastic Cycling League,
is pleased to announce the hiring of Renee Griswold as the new League Director.
Renee will strengthen organizational efforts to support the coaches, student-athletes, and programs across the State of Wisconsin. Renee joins the WI League after an 18-year run with the Milwaukee Ballet as the School
& Academy General Manager. In that position, she managed over 50+ staff in multiple locations and served 1000’s of students and families while maintaining national accreditation, international audition tours, Summer Intensive programs, and annual productions requiring over 300+ volunteers. Renee has also dedicated time and effort to the WI League as the registration co-manager during the race season, and a Level 3 coach on the Shorewood Mountain Bike Team. The hiring committee was impressed by Renee’s extensive experience in working for and with non-profits that are focused on
youth development through exercise and movement. Renee shared, “When I learned of this opportunity, I knew I could quickly apply my expertise and knowledge of working with students, parents, staff, volunteers and
community in a new and exciting way. There is no greater honor than to be tapped to lead this community in the next chapter of its growth and development.”

With the retirement of WI League founders Don Edberg and Kathy Mock last season, Renee will be the first League Director to take the reins in seven years. Kathy spoke for both outgoing directors when she was asked for comment, “Renee’s skills and background, combined with her passion for youth development and cycling, make her a great fit for the Wisconsin League. As strong demand continues to grow for programming and services, the WI League will benefit enormously from her leadership and experience.”
“I am thrilled to have Renee step into this role. Her experience will serve the WI League membership well and I am confident in her abilities to get #morekidsonbikes and to bring great programming to the State of Wisconsin,” says Amanda Carey, President of NICA.
