NICA started in 2009 with a race series for high school athletes in California. NICA leagues across the country host hundreds of race events each year, creating a place for healthy and supportive competition as where athletes grow and challenge themselves physically and mentally. NICA mountain bike races are some of the best sporting events you’ll ever attend: fun, raucous, and full of positive energy and inspiring efforts.
Racing in Wisconsin is part of our Festival Weekends!
NICA Adventure supports leagues and NICA Coaches in applying the principles of adventure and experiential education. It is a crucial component in providing resources to meet the social and emotional needs of all the student-athletes in our leagues. Adventure helps our student-athletes build relationships and interpersonal skills that will serve them beyond their time with NICA.
WI NICA Adventure Rides can be part of Festival Weekends, part of stand-alone Adventure Rides or Weekends or part of local team programming.
NICA is making a concentrated effort to increase the number of girls and female coaches in NICA programs by focusing on creating a more welcoming environment for girls to join through girls-only events, rides, camps, clinics and socializing opportunities.
WI GRiT is active at the team and league level with a variety of female-led programing.
As mountain bikers, the trails are our playground! The Teen Trail Corps program provides NICA student-athletes the opportunity to get involved in trail maintenance efforts and to use their voices to advocate for increased trail access.
In Wisconsin, Teen Trail Corps activities happen at both the team and league level.
We believe every student-athlete and coach should have the chance to camp during Festival Weekends. Our Learn-To-Camp Program removes barriers by providing camping education and fully equipped Camping Kits!
Everything you need for a comfy camp: a tent, sleeping bags, pads, cooking gear, and tools – all expertly maintained and ready to go – and our Learn to Camp Coaches will teach you how to use everything in your kit.
