I first got involved with NICA in 2020 when my older son joined the mountain bike team as a way to ride with his friends. At the time, COVID protocols required smaller ride groups, creating a need for more coaches, so I stepped up and became a Level 2 coach. A year later, my younger son joined the team, and from that point on, our whole family has been fully immersed in the NICA experience! The NICA community is incredibly supportive, offering so much more than just racing—it fosters friendships, resilience, confidence, and a deep love for the sport.

I am grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that prioritizes investing in youth by encouraging a diverse population to stay active, build connections, and develop confidence. Getting kids on trails not only introduces them to the excitement of mountain biking but also helps them discover who they are and who they can become. The lessons learned through riding—perseverance, teamwork, and self-discovery—extend far beyond the trails. I believe in the power of cycling to create lifelong opportunities, and I am passionate about the mission to get more kids on bikes and engaged in a healthy, supportive community!

I am excited to serve the Wisconsin League as a way to continue working with youth and families, helping them discover the joy, challenge, and adventure that biking offers. Mountain biking is more than just a sport—it builds confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of community. Being part of an organization that encourages kids to be active, develop lifelong skills, and connect with others in a supportive environment is truly rewarding. I look forward to contributing my experience to ensure that more families can enjoy the benefits of biking and the positive impact of the NICA community.

I’m excited to be part of an organization that inspires and energizes so many kids, parents, and families through the sport of mountain biking. With the rapid growth of mountain biking both nationally and in Wisconsin, it’s essential to support the board in developing the league sustainably while maintaining its welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. I love using my experience as an event director to contribute wherever needed, ensuring that the Wisconsin League continues to provide incredible opportunities for young athletes. Creating positive experiences that motivate kids to stay active, healthy, and engaged in the community is both rewarding and essential.

Mountain biking is an incredible vehicle for sharing NICA’s core values—fun, inclusivity, equity, respect, and community—while helping student-athletes, families, and supporters integrate them into their daily lives. Through the sport, riders develop resilience, confidence, and teamwork, all while building lifelong connections. I am thrilled to contribute to this mission, fostering personal growth and strengthening the NICA community. Whether on the trails, during events, or through mentorship, I am committed to creating positive experiences that inspire young athletes and their families. It is an honor to support and expand a program that empowers youth through adventure and camaraderie.
There are so many things that excite me about how the League is growing! New venues to ride, new teams from different areas of the state, and outside the state, and new sponsors. While there is still more to do and much more to come, collectively as a community we have all played a part in making WI NICA a special place in the world.
