Many of you recall the beautiful pre-ride on Saturday and the wet and muddy Sunday last year at Minooka but dare I say, the forecast looks pretty great for our second Event Weekend of 2023! The start hill at Minooka is famous for it's roaring, costumed crowds encouraging athletes to 'keep pedaling' to make it to the top. Different from Telemark, the roots, rocks and sometimes narrow tree openings use the technical skills student athletes have been practicing. Quick jaunts through the trees allow spectators to see their athletes often. Let's get ready for the fun! Thank you to MetroMTB and Waukesha County Parks for care and use of this fun trail system! WI LEAGUE ECONOMIC IMPACT STUDY NEEDS YOUR INPUT |
This season the WI League is conducting an economic impact study of our event weekends. Following each event weekend you attend, we would greatly appreciate 5-minutes of your time to complete the survey. This data will show communities all around Wisconsin the benefits NICA can bring to their area, leading to more and more MTB fun around WI! The more data we can collect, the great impact we can have....the shark says so! Thank you for your help! |

CALLING ALL THOSE WHO CAN HELP! |
|
| | The simplest truth for the League is that we just can't run events without the help from teams, parents, families and friends - our volunteers. WE NEED YOU! Sign-up below for Minooka and all other events thsi season. Training is provided, staff is easy to access and you won't miss your athlete's race if you volunteer. Greeting, directing traffic, crossing guards, organizing athletes before their race, helping at the finish line and more....there are opportunities for you to help the event run smoothly with just an hour or two of your time. Which volunteer position is right for you? Consider your athlete's race schedule and how much time you are willing to give to your athlete’s race to make it successful and awesome. Look at the volunteer signup and find the times that meet your needs. Find jobs that you would enjoy based on the descriptions in the signups and remember, training is provided so give anything a try. Please contact the League’s fantastic Volunteer Coordinator, Allison Carmody. |

EVENT #1: MT. TELEMARK VILLAGE RECAP |
Our season opener at Mt. Telemark Village was a HOT start to the season, literally, but great fun was had! New MS2 and HSO categories raced for the first time, varsity athletes had more crowds on course than ever before as they kicked off the day and middle school athletes handled the heat like champs in their new early afternoon races! The endless miles of trails in and around the Cable area provided bonus fun of Adventure riding all weekend on excellent trails while making new friends. Colorful tie-dye and glitter made for a festive GRiT weekend as our new Mentors and Ambassadors embraced their leadership roles. Teen Trail Corps enjoyed a tour of the trails and had the opportunity to meet members of the crew leading the charge to build Mt. Telemark Village into a world- class MTB destination. Excited to see what is to come at this growing venue. Learn more about this amazing project here. Ride this great energy to the rest of our event weekends this 2023 season! Photos are on the way so save the link below and check back in a day or two once our photographers have a chance to get everything loaded. |
