A Letter from the League Co-Directors
Hello Coaches, Student-Athletes, Parents and Volunteers,
The health and safety of our coaches, student-athletes, their families and the community is our number one priority. The Wisconsin High School Cycling League has been tirelessly working with NICA to develop guidance teams, safety protocols for coaches and student-athletes and race format options for the fall.
Please follow the CDC guidelines in this order.
1. State
2. County
3. Local Community
4. School District
Regular season practice is scheduled to start July 1st and is subject to change. We are not approving any in-person pre-season activities at this time or holding Try-It-Out sessions or GRiT social rides.
With some of the latest announcements from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, we plan to bring back On-The-Bike-Skills training and CPR/NICA approved WFA Certifications in the near future. Watch for the next coach’s news with more details.
Everyone at the Wisconsin league is optimistic that we will have a season, but nothing is a guarantee. Things are looking positive today but that can change if we don’t follow good hygiene, follow proper social distancing measures and don’t stay at home when we are sick. We have always and will continue to put the safety as our top priority, so please do the same for our community at large.
All announcements will be sent via the Single Track Times Newsletter or the Coaches Newsletter. Within the week, we will also add a Covid updates link to our website.
Best Regards,
Kathy Mock/Don Edberg
